Your Go-To Morning Run Playlist

Morning Playlist

A morning run means different things for different folks. Some like a leisurely pace. Some prefer a gradual build. And others prefer to get moving straightaway. With the playlist below, we’ve tried to accommodate all three groups with a single set of songs.

Each tune in the mix below clocks in at 80 beats per minute—which will provide a little inspiration without overwhelming anyone first thing in the morning. The advantage of tunes at this pace is that you can use them two ways—at their actual pace or at 160 BPM. (In the latter case, you’d simply take two steps for each beat rather than one. For example, you might hit a beat each time your right foot lands.)

Using the approach above, the list will let you dawdle if your energy is low. And, when you perk up, you can easily slip into a run. In addition to accommodating a range of paces, the list below will cater to a variety of tastes—with pop diva Ariana Grande, country chief Eric Church, and dynamite lyricist Childish Gambino each making appearances. When the dawn breaks, your audio coffee below awaits.

Taylor Swift – Ready for It (BloodPop Remix) – 80 BPM

5 Seconds of Summer – She Looks So Perfect – 80 BPM

Pitbull & Enrique Iglesias – Messin’ Around – 80 BPM

Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj – Side to Side – 80 BPM

Kent Jones – Don’t Mind – 80 BPM

Eric Church – Record Year – 80 BPM

Jack U & Kiesza – Take U There (Missy Elliott Remix) – 80 BPM

Childish Gambino – Sweatpants – 80 BPM

Shakira – Empire – 80 BPM

Far East Movement & Riff Raff – The Illest (Rell the Soundbender Remix) – 80 BPM
