Banners of past Boston Marathon champions decorated the blocks surrounding the expo on Seaport Boulevard.
Expo visitors flocked to the information booth near the edge of the expo floor to glean information on participating booths.
After picking up their race bibs upstairs, runners returned to the expo floor to retrieve their t-shirts and browse the participating booths.
Marathoners and their supporters were invited to write messages to others participating in this year’s race.
“Be yourself…unless you can be a unicorn” was a running joke among those who planned to channel their inner Spike the Unicorn (the Boston Marathon mascot) on Marathon Monday.
Several runners around town were wearing Boston-inspired special edition shoes, like this pair from adidas.
We may be biased, but the Women’s Running booth was to us the highlight of the event!
The Women’s Running team distributed free copies of our May 2018 issue, featuring cover runner Deena Kastor.
Hundreds of runners stopped by our photo booth to take photos with their friends and family members.
Though 2014 champion Meb Keflezighi has retired from professional running, he was still spotted at press events and around the expo in the days before the marathon. He’s also running the race this year for fun!
A timeline on the expo floor highlighted some of the significant moments in Boston Marathon history.
