Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Will Take Place November 11-12

The Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon Series announced this morning that the Las Vegas 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon races will take place as scheduled on November 11 and 12, 2017. In the wake of the shooting that took place across the street from Mandalay Bay at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival on October 1, race organizers announced that they will alter the half and full marathon start lines and courses, both of which were originally slated to begin on Las Vegas Boulevard at Mandalay Bay. The new start lines and adjusted courses will be announced in the coming weeks.

“We are working closely with all appropriate local and federal law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of our runners, volunteers and spectators in the Las Vegas area,” race organizers announced in an official press release distributed this morning. In addition to updating registered runners on the start line and course changes, organizers confirmed that the race expo will be held as planned from November 9 through 11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Additionally, no changes will be made to the 5K and 10K courses. Runners are encouraged to participate in the races for which they registered as planned. “Now it is time to come together and show the world how strong the Rock ‘n’ Roll community is and support Las Vegas,” race organizers said. “Next month, you will be an important part of the Las Vegas community as we continue the tradition of running the Las Vegas Strip at Night.”
