Colleen Quigley discusses her first Millrose Games, during which she won the NYRR Wanamaker Mile.
Olympian Kara Goucher teased something great on Twitter:
Then Oiselle confirmed that the scribbled-out tank she’s wearing is actually the best thing ever, with their “Kara Collection” that just dropped. According to the website, the line is “a set of Oiselle exclusive styles designed from concept to completion with Kara Goucher’s needs and wants. Like Kara’s life, the collection is inspired by not only sport, but also the many to/from moments we have as athletes. All designed in premium technical fabrics. In other words, leading materials for a leading athlete.”
The Seattle-based company is known for incorporating sponsored athletes into their clothing concepts, design, needs—and even photo shoots on the website. As a runner and huge fan of Kara Goucher, it’s awesome to see one of America’s favorite marathoners actually sporting her own styles on the company website.
“Many times we use an athlete for inspiration and the design team goes off and makes their own decisions. With the Kara Collection, she was deeply involved at every stage— as we wanted to create a new model for athlete support that went beyond image,” explains CEO Sally Bergesen. “This team got to know the most personal details on Kara’s wish list. The benefit of an all-female team!”
The collection, which includes a sleeveless hoodie—Kara says is an easy piece to put on pre- or post-workout and “feel put together”—and some motivating muscle tanks, are a great celebration of the runner’s bravery and strength both as a marathoner and an outspoken advocate for a clean sport.
