Run Angel co-founder David Caren explains what the Run Angel watch does and why it's an important invention for runner safety.
Chances are you’ve heard of the clothing and gear company ROKA, but probably from your triathlete friend. Or, maybe you remember seeing the ROKA logo plastered across countless wet suits in a shiny picture from an IRONMAN race. Well, the company that recently announced it’s multi-year partnership deal with USA Triathlon is now making some amazing, high-quality clothing and gear specifically for runners!
Their website promises they “spared no expense” in designing the new gear for those to want to “FIND FASTER” and, may I add, find fashionable? See for yourself:
Design and fit highlights: A lot of breathable mesh, true-to-size and also not too long in the torso but, dip down enough in the underarm area to prevent chafing.
Color options: Torch (a mango like color), Magenta and Black, all with colored piping to match.
Bonus: Available in eight sizes, limited sewn seams and bonded reflective tape for better visibility.
Design and fit highlights: The unique multiple strap design is not only fashionable but functional. It was designed by athletes (for athletes) to balance support across your chest, which is really all any woman wants from a sports bra. They also added a “soft dobby knit lining” for added skin contact comfort while in motion.
Color options: Torch, Magenta and Black
Bonus: Available is two different cup sizes.
Design and fit highlights: Made with ultralight stretch fabric these shorts were made to move with you. There is a built-in soft mesh (read: breathable) liner and several pockets for keys, phones and fuel.
The shorts are available in five sizes, two rises and several colors.
Color options: Abstract Floral Magenta (shown), Techno, Abstract Floral Torch and, of course, Basic Black.
Bonus: “We tackled two storage challenges with this short: 1) making a pocket that can securely hold a phone while running and 2) making a key pocket that actually works.” Can they read our minds? The pocket measures 5.5” and can hold up to an iPhone 6 or equivalent (not 6+) with a “hydrophobic membrane with bonded seam construction” so sweat cannot seep into the pocket and destroy your phone. Genius!
Named after the Vendée Globe, the round-the-world single handed yacht race that attracts the most daring, accomplished yachtsmen, the Vendée is ROKA’s revamp of the classic wayfarer style, made for runners.
Weighing only 25 grams these stylish frames are sure to stay almost weightless even after 26.2. Constructed with patent-pending GEKO pads on the nose and temples for comfort, hidden springs for shock absorption around the ears and engineered with a channeled flow to combat fogging, you may just never take these babies off.
ROKA has made a name in the triathlon community for quality, durability, comfort and performance for a reason. They have done their research with elite runners and are offering some amazing products. Take advantage!
