Alexi Pappas Pens A Poem About Never Remembering Her First Run

Running

I’ll never remember
the first time I did
was it get away or chase
boy or thing
maybe to retrieve
escaped hoola-hoop ring
whether it made me afraid
or made me sing
I’m still doing it now
with bigger wings.
