What is your favorite food?
“Ice cream. I love just about any kind of dessert, but ice cream is my go-to, no matter what season we’re in. I grew up spending my summers on a sailboat in Rhode Island where we’d get ice cream at the marina frequently. Ice cream screams summer to me which is my favorite season. It’s hard not to smile when ice cream is involved.”
How did you get into running?
I started running with Girls on the Run when I was 8 years old, but I didn’t really get into the sport until I was in high school. I started using it as cross-training for swimming and my passion for it really took off. Running was and is the best way for me to clear my head. It’s the only hour of the day I’m completely unplugged from everything—other than while I’m sleeping. I’ve met several of my closest friends through running—it has become my social life, my sport, and one of the best parts of my day. It isn’t about winning races or running PRs; I run because I love it. And because I really, really like dessert.
