Smooth skin makes you go faster—less drag, right?
Doctors suggest this four-step, post-run process to keep skin looking lovely.
It might be tempting to give your favorite sports bra a double wear, but put everything you wore (including hats and visors) in the washing machine, not on the drying rack.
Make sure to shower immediately after every workout. If acne is an issue, use a soap containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.
Use your shower time to perform a self-exam of your skin. Many conditions are easily treated early on, so consult with your doctor if you notice new spots, lesions or changes.
Restore and protect the skin with a lotion that plays double-duty as sunscreen. Skip pricey anti-cellulite and spider-vein creams, which will only shrink your bank account. Dr. Navarro says, “Creams mask the problem and only work short-term.”
