A University of Chicago study has found that people with high levels of self-control are happier than their impulsive counterparts. The secret, researchers say, lies in knowing how to choose between instant, fleeting gratification (like sleeping instead of going for a run) and long-term contentment (a PR at next month’s half marathon).
