Race Spotlight: San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon

Lace up your dancing shoes and get ready to rock at this music-themed marathon.

RACE

Part music festival, part marathon, the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon (rocknroll.competitor.com) is perfect for endurance-loving party girls. The downtown course snakes through the city’s most famous areas, including bucolic Balboa Park and the historic mission district of Old Town—but the best sightseeing is during the race itself. Live bands provide motivation, dozens of racers dress as Elvis and a giant outdoor concert (complete with free beer and a musical guest you’ve actually heard of) greets you at the finish line.
