Sarah Denver scored a 32-minute marathon PR with her guide and good friend at her side.
No matter what your opinion is on the cancellation of the New York City Marathon this weekend, there is one thing everyone can agree on: powerful things happen when people join together to help others. Whether you were planning to tow the start line of the iconic race or heading out for your normal training run, Charity Miles has a way for you to show some running love during this time of devastation. Here’s how it works:
1. Go to your app store and download the Charity Miles app.
2. Run, run, run! For everyone that does a total of 26.2 Charity Miles this weekend (whether you run a marathon or add miles from various runs completed on Saturday and Sunday), Charity Miles will donate a special medal to Medals4Mettle (a wonderful charity that allows people to donate their race medals to children suffering from debilitating diseases).
It’s as simple as that! No matter where you are, you can use the tragedy of Hurricane Sandy to fuel your run this weekend and celebrate courageous children at the same time.
